2 from Laurel serve as House pages

Sarah Robertson and Faith Houston (holding gavel) of Laurel recently served as pages for the Mississippi House of Representatives. Pages generally run errands for officials and House staff.  Sarah and Faith are pictured with Speaker of the House Philip Gunn and Rep. Dana Criswell (R-Olive Branch), who sponsored their visit. Sarah is the daughter of John and Leah Robertson, and Faith is the daughter of Jimmy and Angela Houston. When asked about the week, Sarah said, “Although I have been to the Capitol several times before, this was a very new experience for me.  As a page, I was able to see how our state government works from the inside out. Getting to page in the House of Representatives has given me a greater appreciation for all that our legislators do.” Faith said, “I’ve been involved in government classes before, but it has been amazing to see our Mississippi government in action.”
