Walmart gives $2,500 to Nora Davis

Nora Davis Magnet School was one of four local organizations to receive a Walmart Community Grant during a recent ceremony. The school received $2,500 that will be used for a healthy snacks program, geared toward encouraging children to make healthy choices. The school was awarded during the ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the official opening of the first Walmart Training Academy in Mississippi. As part of the ceremony, the Walmart Academy in Laurel held the first graduation of 60 individuals who had completed the leadership training program. To kick off the ceremony, the Laurel High School cheerleading squad led the crowd in a cheer and the Laurel High School select choir performed several selections.
