West Jones High School Peer Council members recently taught Tar Wars to fourth- and fifth-graders at West Jones Elementary and North Jones Elementary. Tar Wars is a program designed to teach the dangers of using tobacco products, both smoke and smokeless, as well as electronic cigarettes. Peer Council members used stories, posters and hands-on activities to emphasize the need to be tobacco free. Peer Council is taught by Denise Graves with the help of Angie Bynum, Jones County School District nurse. Students who participated were Kolbi Holifield, Belle Walters, Haylee Walters, Macy Kate Malone, Madeleine Boykin, Summer Boyd, Kasia Hosey, Abby Parker, Emma Shows, Nataleigh Duran, Hunter Green, Emmy Fiala, Conner Coleman, Chelsea Beasley, Austin Pitts, Lindsay Parker, Jenna Sumrall, Chelsey Dry, Haley Gable, Madalyn Stringer and Brittani Dozier
