The Jasper County Sheriff’s Department will host a seminar to help parents deal with children and their electronics at 6:30 tonight (Thursday) at the JCJC Learning Center (3209 Highway 15, Bay Springs).

The program, “Warning signs to look for concerning your children,” will highlight the apps, trends and dangers that law enforcement see when dealing with young people and their electronic devices.

Chief Investigator Dave Allen of the Waveland Police Department will discuss recent cases to show the dangers children face and some of the warning signs. Parents will be told what to look for when monitoring their children’s devices and ways of dealing with issues that arise.

It will be a frank discussion, organizers said, so the seminar is for parents only.

“Because of the subject matter, we ask that no children attend,” organizers said.
