The following linemen will be repairing power lines for those in need in South Carolina: Serviceman Brian Blackledge, lineman Mark Ball, serviceman Jonathan Hilbun, serviceman Adron Presley, apprentice lineman Payne Hansberry, lineman Kenny Batte, apprentice lineman Wes McDonniel, line foreman Kimble Holyfield, apprentice lineman Kaden Jamesand operations manager Pat McCarthy.

Dixie Electric’s line crew received the call from South Carolina. And they’re responding.

Black River Electric Cooperative in Sumter, S.C., requested assistance in the aftermath Hurricane Florence. This devastating storm’s wind and rains caused millions of power outages. More than 3,500 members of BREC are currently without electric ser- vice. A group of Dixie Electric linemen made preparations Friday afternoon and left early Saturday morning to travel to South Caro- lina to assist BREC with restoration efforts. Electric cooperatives work together in the aftermath of storms and other disasters.

Dixie Electric Power Association serves seven counties in south Mississippi, including Jones, Jasper, Wayne, Clarke, Coving- ton, Forrest and Perry. The electric cooperative provides electric energy to 39,000 homes and businesses.
