The eighth annual PDI reunion is set for Saturday, so there will be shakes coming from the popular eatery and the “dance floor,” classic rides rolling in from all over, rockin’ on the stage and a whole lot of rattling from attendees talking about the good old days.
Home-town band The Classix will get things cranked up at 5:15 p.m., followed by South Mississippi’s own Davis County and its blend of country-gospel, classic country and oldies starting at 6:30.
Country music singer/songwriter Kolt Barber will take the stage from 8-9:30 p.m. He is described as a “country purist” who has performed with the likes of Waylon Jennings, Travis Tritt, John Anderson and Tanya Tucker
Those who attend are encouraged to bring chairs and “wear those dancing shoes, it’s going to be a great night,” organizers said.
PDI has been in the same location for 71 years and Hellfighters’ new facility in the old Reliance building will be open to the public.
“It is going to be the biggest and best reunion we’ve ever had,” said Ken Keyes, one of the founders and organizers of the reunion.
