Qualifying is now closed for the 2019 elections. A few late filers made it to the Circuit Clerk’s Office before the 5 p.m. deadline.
• Independent Colendia Ross will challenge incumbent Circuit Clerk Concetta Brooks, a Republican.
• Donald Dale Holifield qualified for Beat 3 Supervisor.
• Trey Chinn and Ernest Hollingsworth qualified for Beat 5 Supervisor.
Primary elections are set for Aug. 6. Winners of the primary races will meet in the November election, if there is a candidate from the opposing party or an Independent in the race.
