Denise “D” Welch Hayes, 60, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 10, 2018. She went peacefully surrounded by beloved family and friends at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans.

    Services will be today (Thursday) at Memory Chapel. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. and services will follow at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Memorial Gardens. Rev. Ken Harrison and Rev. Bob Taylor will officiate.

    To know D was to love D. She was truly a shining light to everyone she knew. She will forever be missed until we meet her again in a place the Lord has prepared for us in Heaven.

    D is survived by her husband of 42 years David Hayes; son Cody Michael Hayes; mother Bobbie Welch; twin sister Annise Welch Walters and husband George; four special nephews, Ryan Walters and wife Stacey and son Ryder, Justin Walters and wife Kaycee and daughters Josee and Dustee and son Judson, Zachary Welch and wife Kami and sons Kyler and Kane, and nephew Caleb Welch; and sister-in-law June Carey.

    She was preceded in death by her father Hubert Welch and brother Buddy Welch.

    Pallbearers will be Ryan Walters, Justin Walters, Phil Dickerson, Kris Breland, Steve Dearman, and Don Crane. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Shaw, Keble “Cuz” Luter, Dustin Pitts and Bryce Dearman.
