It is unfair for the City of Laurel to annex the Pendorff Community to the city. My neighbors and I have no desire to be annexed into the city. It seems we have no saw whatsoever about it.

What I would like to know is what gives the city of Laurel the right to do this? How, if this is a free country can someone take over your property this way without your consent?

We pay taxes on it. Don’t we have some rights? We have no desire to be in the City of Laurel. The city has problems taking care of the streets and sewer in Laurel. How can we expect that ours would be any better?

How can the courts of our land allow this to happen to people. After all it is our land we paid for so we should have some rights.

I am sure a lot of people feel the same way I do about this. It just doesn’t seem fair. Shouldn’t we have the right to vote on whether we want to be in the city or not?
